Job Description

Bethesda Lutheran Communities, a faith-based provider of support services for individuals with developmental disabilities has a need for a dedicated and committed Direct Support Professional to help us in our Mission. 

Help is needed to assist people with a variety of daily living supports and transportation needs in small group settings, or in their own homes in the Pompton Lakes area.  

We have an opening for a Part-time Direct Support Professional.

Essential Functions:
- Provides continuous active treatment through training of individuals by following and implementing individuals ISPs; provides training in varied environments; follows activity plans of unit.
- Maintains the routine of the clients by following individual's schedule and assisting individuals in following their routines.
- Assists individuals in completion of activities of daily living, including toileting, grooming, bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Completes required documentation.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work environment for individuals; follows safety procedures of unit assigned; follows infection control procedures.
- Ability to do daily walking, bending, lifting; ability to complete escorts and two person lifts and transfers of individuals over 100 pounds. 

 

 

 

 

 


Job Requirements 


High school graduate, or equivalent; must have valid driver's license with good driving record as defined by Bethesda's guidelines and dependable transportation; some experience working with mental retardation/developmental disabilities is preferred, but we will train.  Must pass required background checks.
