Description
Electronics Maintenance Technician needed for production facility located 40 min. west of Central Wichita.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, software changes, wiring changes, etc. as necessary to keep production units running properly and with minimal downtime while meeting applicable electrical and safety codes and company rules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform plant electrical and electronic repairs -
· Troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems including, but not limited to, AC/DC Drives and PLC’s
· Equipment software loading and reprogramming
· Align plant electrical and electronic equipment
· Execute repairs
Project Management –
· Initiate small and medium projects
· Manage the project by coordinating internal and external resources, setting up timelines, ordering materials, etc.
· Produce status reports on projects
Coordinate work with schedules of other groups –
· Work weekends, holidays and nights as needed
· Participate in on-call rotation duty
· Manage work needs to fit the operations’ and customer schedule.
· Interacts with Engineering, Maintenance and Production personnel.
· Interacts with vendor’s representatives as needed for service calls on electrical or electronic equipment
Requirements
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma/GED plus Electronic trade school or vocational technical school degree or OJT equivalent to 2 years formal education in industrial electronics.
Technical Requirements:
· Full comprehension and working knowledge of industrial electrical codes.
· Proficient in the use of mathematical skills beyond basic arithmetic, such as ratios, percentages, logarithmic equations, fundamentals of algebra and geometry, scientific notation and working with common units of measure.
· Computer literate: able to troubleshoot common problems with Microsoft software applications and use them.
· Proficient in the use and troubleshooting of PLC’s, including Siemens and Allen Bradley
· Proficient in the use and troubleshooting of control software applications.
· Proficient in the use of electrical and electronic tools and test equipment.
· Proficient in troubleshooting common AC and DC systems and motor speed controls.
· Able to trace and troubleshoot discrete electromechanical, electronic and software logic.
· Able to trace and troubleshoot analog operational amplifier circuits.
