Description

The Sr. Information Security / Information Assurance Engineer is critical in the objective to provide capability assurance at the client level. The IA Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and improving the IT security documentation and how it associates within the Federal Information Security Act (FISMA) processes for all federal government and Department of Defense (DoD) clients of our client. The IA Analyst functions as a Technical Lead on a single, large project or multiple, smaller projects.

 

This Senior role will include the following responsibilities and required skills:

 

  • Excellent documentation and policy/procedure writing skills

  • Develop and draft Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation

  • Manage C&A related project tasks 

  • Track and monitor production system changes and ensure updates to applicable IA related documentation for systems are made 

  • Lead and manage information security procedures and guidelines development 

  • Track Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) 

  • Effectively using tools to capture, define, and document security requirements 

  • Provide guidance to team members regarding security issues surrounding UNIX, Windows, TCP/IP, email, enterprise concerns, and classified & unclassified ratings

Requirements
  • Overall minimum of 8-10 Years IT Security Experience, either corporate, government, military, or government contractor
  • Prefer Secret clearance, or ability to easily attain.
  • 2-5 years of related experience; preferably focusing on IT security and Information Assurance for federal government or military systems 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required, Master’s degree is desirable 
  • Expertise with Federal information security requirements, standards, and guidelines such as NIST, FIPS, and DoD DIACAP 
  • Security and other technology certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, ISSEP, ISSMP, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are desired 
  • Ability to work well in team environments of varying composition, personalities, roles, and responsibilities Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to master similar productivity tools 
  • Creative ability to think and communicate thoughts both in terms of structured narrative and visual imagery (graphics) 
  • Active awareness of industry trends and technologies in relevant areas of subject-matter interests (Homeland Security, Congressional Agenda, etc.)
