Description Manufacturing Engineer
SUMMARY

Responsible for providing engineering support in the manufacturing of highly complex energetic products.  Mixing and Casting experience preferred.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Evaluates and analyzes Technical Data Packages pertaining to the manufacturing of specific products.
  • Establishes and maintains adequate documentation of formula, process methods, manufacturing and tooling drawings and manufacturing construction standards
  • Supports proposal and solicitation response in a timely manner with write up, cost estimates and non recurring engineering estimates.
  • Supports the manufacturing process through lean manufacturing techniques and methods. Able to execute DOE, equipment modifications and process flow improvements to achieve higher quality product at increased manufacturing rates.

  • Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Kilgore.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance if required.
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First" attitude. Employee must be willing to obey all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy.  Employee must report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to their supervision and participate in a team hazard to produce a work place that is free from hazards and personal injury.
  • Must be able to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
