Description

Architect - Manager Facility Design

The Manager Facility Design and Code Compliance develops policies, procedures and standards for facility design and organizes drawings and plans in an orderly fashion.  S/he maintains plan and specification library.  Develops schematic and conceptual drawings using computer aided drafting and design programs.  S/he manages the use of architects, space planners and consultants to achieve the best design result for the Network.

 

1.     Develops policies, procedures, and standards for facility design and organizes drawings and plans.

 

  • Develops project planning procedure and check off lists to assure the proper completion of all required components to a project.

2.     Develops drawings by means of manual drafting or computer CAD systems.

 

  • Prepare measured drawings of existing spaces.

  • Develops schematic or conceptual floor plans with descriptions of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (F, F & E) using appropriate methods.
3.     Assists in evaluation of and adherence to federal, state and local code requirements, and maintains relationships with Arizona Department of Health Service architects and licensure personnel.

4.     Provides guidance and assistance to consultants.

  • Develops plans and specifications for projects, including the negotiation of contracts.

5.     Attends meetings with hospital representatives to plan or update projects

  • Schedules and exchanges information about possible renovations or new projects.
  •  Maintains Network Space Request Log and manages the process of evaluating the request and recommending solutions to same.

6.     Works closely with Real Estate, Facility Planning, and Construction Department personnel in planning, budgeting and completing projects, managing punch list procedures and assuring that as-built drawings are received and stored.

7.     Coordinates locations of emergency exit plans, electrical outlets, nurse call, computer/ communications, case work, plumbing, interior design and other special requirements on small projects.

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelors degree  in architecture or related field
  • 3-5 years in architecture, space planning, or drafting field with 3 years experience in healthcare or medical facility.

  • Current Architect license issued by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration.
