Handle incoming calls for members and providers (including physicians, hospitals and various ancillary services) in a prompt, accurate, courteous manner. Research and resolve various inquiries, such as benefit questions, claim issues, eligibility, funding, check tracers, etc. Interface in a professional manner with various departments, such as Patient Care Management, Billing & Enrollment, Provider Relations, etc., in order to resolve issues in an efficient timeframe. Accurately document incoming inquiries in the Customer Service System. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of appropriate routing procedures regarding electronic and paper inquiries in order to ensure call resolution. Responsible for the timely review, accurate response and documentation of incoming correspondence. Identify trends and alert supervisor in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bilingual Spanish speaking skills are required. Hours for the position may vary and may extend past 5:00 p.m. Related work experience in a customer service or call center environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational skills and detail oriented. Ability to problem solve, prioritize, maintain a flexible disposition, and work in a fast-paced environment in order to accurately respond to incoming telephone calls. Ability to identify, research issues and concerns, and to respond to questions in a timely manner. Experience in the health insurance field a plus. Computer skills a plus. Customer focused professionalism required.
