Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager drives Initiate's success in the market by executing the go-to-market strategy for Initiate's products and solutions. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the external facing content creation and management of product marketing deliverables as well as providing sales enablement tools and the appropriate training for successful Account Executive certification in a defined market segment or industry.

 

The PMM is accountable for sales ready messaging for all external facing communications mediums and delivery of this to stakeholders in a timely fashion.  They will manage and coordinate launch activities for products or solutions in a defined market segment or industry.  The PMM is responsible for working with the Strategic Marketing director to communicate our unique value proposition for specific buyer types and develops the appropriate communications tools for the right mediums to do that.  They will provide the external facing content focused on business and technical buyers in a defined market segment or vertical to reach and influence these buyers through the buying cycle.   All activities will support the sales cycle and process of moving prospects to customers with the right messaging and sales tools for direct and indirect sales teams.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers and prospects to determine how best to communicate with buyers in specific markets and translate our product and solution offerings into compelling, buyer focused marketing communications

  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of compelling product positioning documents

  • Execute the go-to-market strategy for communicating our unique value proposition and move the buying process along to help the buyer make a decision

  • Work closely with strategic marketing,  marketing communications, industry/demand creation and partner marketing to develop and deliver compelling messaging and content for launches, programs and campaigns 

  • Develop content for new product or solution launches, website, press releases, contributed articles, social media, technical marketing assets including white papers, datasheets, demos, competitive summaries

  • Enable sales to sell our products and solutions effectively through training activities and sales assets

  • Extend thought leadership by authoring and delivering innovative content for publications and  speaking engagements

  • Work with Alliance marketing to enable channel(s) effective and repeatable training activities and sales assets  

  • Own the development and maintenance of customer information worksheets, customer win announcements, case studies, success stories and other customer related content such as awards nominations and industry marketing programs customer support

  • Serve as key content developer for Services offerings and installed base customer marketing programs

  • Support requests from the sales organization on  specific content as needed and within priority set

 

Location of Position:

While headquartered in Chicago, this role is a telecommuteable position

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or equivalent

  • 3-7 years experience in Product Marketing in an enterprise software organization

  • Experience using Pragmatic Marketing methodology a plus

  • Understands data oriented problems and enterprise software products.

  • Understands the transformational role of enterprise information management technologies such as CDI, MDM, data quality, and business intelligence. Is up-to-date on the latest technology trends such SaaS and SOA.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in marketing communications, product marketing, product management or sales consulting/engineering for data management, data integration, data quality, CRM, ERP, EAI, Web Services, SOA or BI/DW

  • Track record of successful sales ready messaging content development and enablement training

  • Understands the demands of working in a high growth company

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into simple, compelling messages

  • Is an analytical thinker that can collaborate to identify and solve problems and is able to use market knowledge
