Medical Director

Adult Psychiatrist(s) Needed as Medical Director

Board certified or Eligible in Adult Psychiatry
At least 7 years of experience in working with severe and persistent mental illness
Significant experience in mental health recovery or awareness and embracing of the principles of mental health recovery

Requirements

Duties will include

Overall supervision of all medical/clinical aspects of the services delivered
Identifying appropriate evidence based or emerging best practices therapies to be employed by staff in delivering services
Oversight of agency performance improvement initiatives
Ensuring the coordination between MH/SA services being delivered with primary physical healthcare providers
Consulting with primary healthcare providers on the clinical aspects of the consumers being served and the implications for those consumers’ physical healthcare needs.
Coordinating with medical staff of other providers
Design of treatment protocols employed within the agency
Implementation of best practice and emerging best practice protocols
Supervision of all other medical staff within the provider agency.
Providing some unit based attending services to agency medication clinic, ACTT services and facility based crisis unit.
Providing back up coverage to other contracted or staff psychiatrists
Review of service quality

Duties May Include:

Supervision of all non-medical direct care staff
Ensuring appropriate assessment of all consumers served
Design of staff training
