Description

The Human Resources Manager is the regional HR support person for the Company’s Amarillo, Texas, facility.  The Human Resources Manager acts as business partner and handles the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department in the regional office, including, but not limited to: Benefits, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation and Leave Administration, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation, and Organizational Development and Training.  In addition, the manager role serves to support and communicate human resource strategies and programs. 

 

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Administers various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations.

2.      Conducts recruitment and candidate source activities for exempt and nonexempt staff, including candidate screening, testing, advertising and candidate production/identification through educational institutions, career fairs, etc. Investigate discrimination complaints and assists in the resolution of employee grievances. Facilitates internal transfers and promotions.

3.      Consults with managers and staff regarding employee relations, performance improvement, corrective counseling and other human resources issues as needed. Assists in planning and coordinating employee recognition and social events.

4.      Assists in evaluation of reports, and results of the department in relation to established goals. 

5.      Investigates employee complaints, discrimination charges and assist in the resolution of employee issues.

6.      Supports planning and coordinating employee recognition / relations programs.

7.      Assists with HR communications efforts.

8.      Provides assessment and guidance regarding employee disciplinary activity, including dispute resolution coordination.

9.      Supports leadership planning and response to feedback from management and employees through various sources including surveys and suggestions.

10.  Supports the corporate training department with planning and coordination of staff and management development training programs.

11.  Supports benefit communications and coordination.  Facilitates process for employee resolution of benefit concerns, as needed.

12.  Administers pay systems and programs. Serves as liaison of routine payroll actions.

13.  Acts as company liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, business and technical schools, and community organizations.

14.  Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.

15.  Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

16.  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

3.  JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, and HR Federal and State Laws.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work independently.  Results-oriented.  Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and proficient skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.  Proven ability to exercise judgment, discretion and confidentiality. 

 

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required – A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and five (5) years of Human Resources experience related to Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Workers’ Compensation and Leave Administration, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation, and Organizational Development and Training.  

 

Preferred –

 

1.      Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred

2.      Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

3.      Working knowledge of ADP
