System Administrator

 

One of the fastest growing organization’s in Chicago is seeking a Systems Administrator with expertise in Angel Learning Management software. The primary responsibilities of this position are to run server farms, specifically database server farms; manage large volumes of data and perform system tuning and optimization for the organization’s Angel LMS system. Specific system administration and server management experience with this product platform is mandatory. This person excels at working within a systems team and maintaining servers while communicating effectively with business stakeholders. This is a position with significant opportunity for career growth.

Description of Job Duties

• Perform analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation, documentation and administration of sever applications and hardware

• Troubleshoot software problems in frontend and backend systems

• Work with multiple teams to find, analyze, and resolve server issues

• Monitor, document and report server defects and performance issues

• Facilitate communication between technology teams and other departments on issue status and resolution

• Supply in-depth technical and business knowledge to multiple teams

• Provide overall vision and direction for tactical and strategic systems architecture



Job Requirements

Experience and Education Required

• 5 years of relevant experience

• Bachelor’s degree – computer or technology field preferred

• Technical experience managing an enterprise Angel online learning student base

• Expertise in Angel 7.x load balancing, Angel application architecture or SQL database performance tuning

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills

• Ability to convey technical information to a general audience

• Aptitude and eagerness for learning new technologies
