Manager - General - Skatepark (Co)
Job Summary:
In the absence of the General Manager, manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the skatepark, including sales, service, staffing, training and profits. Supervises and manages all personnel, including implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures and corporate directives. Maintains effective corporate office business partner relationships. The General Manager may direct the Co-Manager to independently manage an area of the business such as counter, pro-shop or skatecamps. Establish control-related standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Recruits, hires, develops and retains personnel
- Trains and motivates associates to achieve maximum sales productivity
- Manages store scheduling to ensure proper coverage based on business needs
- Maintains payroll and store expenses within established budget
- Communicates with District Manager or Regional Director regarding all employee discipline concerns
- Ensures proper sales promotional setup of store and maintenance of sales floor and stock room to create a neat, clean and well presented store
- Ensures compliance and adherence to policies and procedures, standards and practices and company directives including company security and shrink policies/programs and proper banking procedures
- Ensures effective customer service and direct selling, that sales plans are achieved
- Manages compliance with all on-site injuries and related concerns for employees and patrons
Requirements:
2 Years of Related Professional Experience Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills:
Ability to accurately and efficiently operate cash register while following cash handling procedures
Ability to positively interact with children
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Certified in First Aid and CPR (reimbursed by Vans)
Occasional travel, overnight and by air required
Regularly interacts with the public in an often crowded and noisy interactive store environment
Standing required for entire work shift
Operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phone, fax, copy)
Must work weekend and night shifts
Climb ladders as needed
Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
