General Accountant

ICL Performance Products LP is a global phosphate manufacturer.  Our facilities in Ontario, CA and Canada produce and distribute forest fire retardants and suppressants.  Ontario is a key hub for the Phoscheck SBU’s operations across North America.

SCOPE:  We presently have an opportunity for an experienced General Accountant.  The position is based in Ontario, CA but has responsibilities requiring travel to our locations in Western Canada and occasionally to St. Louis, MO.  The position will report to the St. Louis based Controller.

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities

·         Execute periodic financial closings for the Phoscheck SBU

·         Perform periodic reconciliation for certain balance sheet accounts

·         Report and analyze periodic inventory variances

·         Assist Controller in completing budget and forecasting requirements

·         Initiate or assist Controller in efficient and compliant business processes and controls

·         Provide routine business information and analysis to SBU management

·         Prepare ad-hoc information requests and presentations for key business managers

·         Monitor inventory controls across Phoschek’s U.S. locations

·         Manage site procurement and assure key purchasing controls are adhered to

·         Record changes in fixed assets and perform periodic asset audits

·         Provide the operations management with hands on assistance in a variety of areas including safety and quality

Experience/Skill

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

·         3-5 years Accounting work experience in a manufacturing environment; preference will be given to candidates with cost accounting experience

·         Familiar with using corporate accounting systems, preferably SAP

·         Mastery of Excel

·         Enjoys working in small, dynamic and multi-tasked organization

·         Proven ability to set and accomplish goals with limited supervision
