Description
Gannett Co., Inc a leading international news and information company seeks a Hub Sales Manager for its East Group. This position is responsible for creating local sales strategy, campaign production plans, and execution of sales and retention strategies for the Hub newspapers, and other sites as assigned, within the Group Hub structure. This position will investigate, expand and implement standardized sales programs and retention programs (in conjunction with Retention & Engagement Center - REC) to achieve and exceed budgeted circulation levels, daily and Sunday, across multiple units. This position will coordinate customer touch-point processes to extend the customer lifecycle. This position is responsible for communication flow throughout the hub structure, and directly to our vendors, on campaign timelines and results.

Using the sales and marketing plan, collaborate with the database manager and graphic designer to create and implement localized sales programs in all circulation areas that will enhance local site objectives as well as support the corporate strategy. Develop standardized approaches across multiple markets that maximize current resources. Monitor home delivery direct response sales and retention budget, including volumes and expenses. Monitor CPO and CPU by sales channel and property to gauge effectiveness of campaigns.

Manage integrated direct response programs including, but not limited to, in-paper ads, direct mail, email, inserts and internet. Project scope includes coordination of creative, printing postage, fulfillment and scheduling. Facilitate timely launch of programs. Oversight of contract fulfillment by outside sales vendors.

Monitor retention programs orchestrated and stops data and execute programs to extend the average life of the subscribers. Ensure continuous use of customer touch-point processes. Manage the subscriber billing process, coordinating the growth of new print and electronic features and customized bill messaging, and working with Accounting and IT to ensure accurate and on time billing.

Communicate programs, results and accomplishments to Group Home Delivery Sales Manager, sales team and local units, enabling proactive implementations. Facilitate communication of promotions to sites and to the COE, auditing GICS applications and work with the Data Control Associate to update and maintain information.

Act as liaison between departments and units to ensure resolution of customer issues, projects come in on plan and deadlines are met.

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Be professional, courteous and timely in every interaction, conveying to all external customers our appreciation for their business.

Responsible for adhering to safety procedures, ensuring a safe work environment and reporting injuries to determine cause and take necessary preventative action.
Requirements

· College degree with specialization in marketing and/or communications preferred.
· Five years of sales and marketing communications, or relevant business experience required.
· Individual must have intermediate level use off Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of presentation software is a plus.
· Well-versed in knowledge of sales, methods, channels and analysis.
· Excellent customer service skills are essential for this position. To be successful, individual must possess strong project management and problem solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
· Must be able to develop successful sales campaigns to ensure meeting budgeted sales goals. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company-driving requirements. Individual must also be able to develop and expand relationships with vendors, internal customers, external customers and area businesses. Individual must be able to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
