Description
This is an excellent and exciting alternative to typical Retail Pharmacy ! Avita Drugs provides a unique, professional and controlled practice environment. This is a vibrant, growing Company, providing Specialized Pharmacy services to patients with chronic illnesses. Unlike typical retail Pharmacy, normal work shifts are M-F, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and dress code is casual and comfortable.
Avita Drugs is hiring Full Time, Part-Time and on-call Technicians to join our professional team at our New Orleans Tulane Avenue location. The successful candidates will provide expert services to chronically ill patients in a professional environment, in a manner which maximizes quality, accuracy and patient safety. Technician participates in the processing of prescriptions in accordance with Federal and State regulations and Avita Drugs policy.
Requirements
Essential Functions:

Process prescriptions for dispensing, assessing patient needs, triage inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and care-givers, and to resolve issues with insurance companies (rejected claims, claims reconciliation, patient benefits)

Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

Prepares medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders/prescriptions; calculating quantities; preparing labels; inputting prescription orders in computer system, handling issues with patient benefits and rejected claims.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Benefits are:
Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm M-F, (weekends are rare), 401K, Medical Benefits, Paid Company Holidays, ability to work overtime on a limited basis.
