Job Description

Develop and maintain a quality system to assure that all products provided by suppliers meet

AAR and end-user specifications; and are suitable for their intended use.

  • Support the quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products.
  • Develop and maintain a published supplier quality index in conjunction with the supplier review board to ensure that only high quality vendors are retained.
  • Maintain the facility’s Corrective and Preventative Action System.
  • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO 9000, NADCAP, and related audits.
  • Conducts ISO internal audits on-site.  Performs ISO audits at other AAR facilities.
  • Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel.
  • Function as chairperson of the facility Supplier Review Board
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Ensure that all incoming transfers and RMR’s are processed properly.
  • Assist Quality Control personnel in reviewing and updating department standards.
  • Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors
  • Travel is required.
  • All other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years quality assurance experience is required.  A formal Quality Assurance credential from a recognized quality association is preferred.  Exposure to Warehouse Operations is required.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

  • FAA A&P License required.
