Develop and maintain a quality system to assure that all products provided by suppliers meet
AAR and end-user specifications; and are suitable for their intended use.
- Support the quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products.
- Develop and maintain a published supplier quality index in conjunction with the supplier review board to ensure that only high quality vendors are retained.
- Maintain the facility’s Corrective and Preventative Action System.
- Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
- Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO 9000, NADCAP, and related audits.
- Conducts ISO internal audits on-site. Performs ISO audits at other AAR facilities.
- Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel.
- Function as chairperson of the facility Supplier Review Board
- Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Ensure that all incoming transfers and RMR’s are processed properly.
- Assist Quality Control personnel in reviewing and updating department standards.
- Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors
- Travel is required.
