Retail Power - Director Indirect Markets

 

A key Optimus client is seeking qualified candidates to join the organization’s retail electricity indirect marketing team to focus on generating and managing business relationships with new and existing electricity brokers.  This client is a premier provider of electricity supply and management services to commercial and industrial customers.

 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

 

Individual Contribution

  • Consistently meet sales goals via management of direct broker relationships
  • Perform all standard sales responsibilities throughout the deal life cycle from prospecting with broker relationship through close
  • Effectively work with pricing desk and within controls to provide pricing and necessary support to close business and achieve established goals individually and for the team
  • Manage contract requirements through the required processes to ensure timely execution of customer agreements
  • Maintain assigned relationship base via regular contact, promoting incremental products and services, resolving customer issues, and renewing expiring contracts
  • Remain on top of the competitive environment, electricity marketing trends, and current pricing strategies and utility tariffs

 

Management

  • Ensures team meets defined sales / financial goals and objectives
  • Manages administration for team including allocation and optimization of budget for relationship development, approval of subordinate’s expense reports, career development and regular performance reviews
  • Develops and reports on key performance metrics for the teams and broker relationships managed
  • Ensures processes and controls are properly adhered to
Requirements

 

  • 8 or more years of direct or indirect sales management with 3 or more focused on Retail Electricity dealing with mid-sized and large commercial customers
  • Experience with complex contracts and related presentation to a broad base of customers
    Experience in developing and managing a sales territory / customer segment
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to effectively manage teams of professionals to achieve goals
  • Excellent Communication, Presentation and Closing skills
  • Prior utilization of Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) is strongly preferred.
