Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday 

 

 

Position Summary

 

 

  1. Responsible for proper, efficient operation of the Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (APHP) from a clinical and administrative standpoint, subject to direction and review by the Clinical Director.

  2. Assesses needs and resources for APHP services.

  3. Provide annual assessment of number and types of patients program is to serve in accordance with goals and objectives of service.

  4. Assessment of staffing patterns in relation to number and type of patients to be served.

  5. Assess resources within Center necessary to provide clinical services.

  6. Assess resources within the community essential to providing clinical services, discharge planning, and follow-up care.

  7. Defines short- and long-term service goals and objectives in accordance with identified needs and develops services to meet these goals and objectives.

  8. Establish goals and objectives of APHP service.

  9. Provide annual comparative report on goals and objectives of APHP service.

  10. Re-establish on annual basis updated goals and objectives.

  11. Selects and assigns Center staff to provide these services:

  12. Assess need for staff in APHP service in accordance with job description and discipline indicated.

  13. Assist chief of  discipline in selection of appropriate staff members.

  14. Assume task of assignment of staff to APHP service to ensure most effective use of personnel and need of service.

  15. Communicates APHP service policies and practices to staff:

  16. Establishes procedure to communicate Center policy to APHP staff.

  17. Regulate staff (time) to ensure communication between APHP staff and Clinical Director regarding policies and procedures.

  18. Coordinates and oversees staff activities, including the quality of work performed, and provides the Clinical Director with information about staff performance and staff development needs.

  19. Assumes task of assignment of staff to area of need in the APHP service to ensure most efficient performance of service.

  20. Regular assessment of performance on a daily basis through staffings and observational techniques.

  21. Monthly assess of performance through review of monthly progress reports of staff regarding patients and duties assigned to them.

  22. Annual evaluation (with Clinical Director) regarding individual’s performance.

  23. Provide information to the Clinical Director regarding individual functioning and development within program through annual evaluation or at times of need as indicated by daily or monthly assessments.

  24. Provide necessary supervision and/or in-service training to enable staff to do their jobs effectively.

  25. Monitors and evaluates service performance regarding attainment of goals and objectives.

  26. Monitors service performance regarding goals and objectives on an ongoing basis (monthly MIS reports).

  27. Evaluate annually by updating goals and objectives.

  28. Prepares service reports at regular intervals for use within Center and in the community.

  29. Prepares service report in regard to Annual Meeting.

  30. Prepares service for information to Board of Directors as least annually.Is available to give service report in community, if requested.

  31. Prepare grant applications pertaining to the APHP services.

  32. Participates in grant application pertaining to APHP services.

  33. Participates in budget preparation.

  34. Submits requisitions of supplies and recruitment essential to providing of services.

  35. Participates in overall Center operations.

  36. Serves as member of various team/committee as assigned.

  37. Serves as resource person in area of specific competence.

  38. Perform public relations duties as member of Center staff.

  39. Other duties as assigned by the COO and/or Clinical Director.

Requirements
  1. At the Master’s level in Social Work or Nursing
  2. Or at the Doctorial level in Psychology required.
  3. Minimum two years clinical experience post-degree required,
  4. Preference given to clinical experience in a community mental health center.
  5. Experience developing and leading group services required.
  6. Current professional license as required for the State of Iowa, or qualified for the State of Iowa and able to obtain within 60 days required.
  7. Competent knowledge and skill in utilizing medical related computer software applications required
