Description
SS&C Direct, a division of SS&C Technologies, Inc., is an investment processing service group that provides back office accounting and reporting support to SS&C Institutional clients. SS&C Direct is searching for an experienced senior level investment accountant to work on a major account.

Primary Responsibilities
· Process Investment Accounting transactions including purchases, sales, posting income, accrued income, amortization, and other transactions.
· Perform cash and holdings reconciliation between Core Accounting Systems and custodian and asset manager records
· Valuation of portfolios on a monthly basis. Generate performance returns. Perform analysis of pricing and performance variances.
·Produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP including analytical review, research and resolution of discrepancies.
· Produce general ledger entries for Clients and ensure entries reconcile to supporting reports
· Produce statutory statements on a quarterly basis (i.e. Schedule Ds)
· Primary liaison with Clients
· Assist with completion of special projects, as needed.
Requirements
Must Have Requirements
The qualifications necessary for further consideration include:
· BS in Accounting (MBA or CPA is a plus)
· 4-6 years of overall accounting experience (minimum 2 years of investment accounting experience)
· Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
· Working knowledge of Statutory Accounting (i.e. Schedule Ds)
· Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel (pivot tables, v-look-ups), Word
Nice to Have Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· GAAP Accounting experience
· Ability to use report writing tools and work with data bases (knowledge of Crystal reporting is a plus)
· Knowledge of Equities and Fixed Income products (with emphasis on Mortgage Backed securities)
· Working knowledge of complex securities (MBS/CMOs, foreign securities, Futures, TIPS, FX Forwards, etc)
· Experience with general ledger
· Experience with investment accounting software (CAMRA™ experience is a plus)
· Knowledge of Performance Measurement and Attribution
· Knowledge of Derivative securities
· Experience processing complex Corporate Actions
· Experience with data providers (Reuters, Bloomberg, SVC, IDC, etc)
