Description

Assist in the planning, directing, operating and coordinating of activities in such fields as computer hardware/software, fire arms training systems, training and engineering, customer service and support or research and development in these fields.  Manage the production phase of products from R&D through customer delivery.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the production phase of new or upgraded products from the R&D phase through customer delivery.

Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.       

                                                                                                                                                                          Assist the Director of Product Management in coordinating and directing projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.  

 

Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.     
                                                                                                                                                        

Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Work with R,D,T&E department to review, and approve product design and changes.  

                                                                                                                                                                           Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.    

                                                                                                                                                                           Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the customer service and technical work performed in the department.   

                                                                                                                                                                           Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.   

                                                                                                                                                                           Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.      

                                                                                                                                                                           Assist in setting scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management. 

 

Requirements

Must have prior product production phase management experience.
Must have prior military or law enforcement experience.
Solid management skills and the ability to work in a strong team environment.
Good presentation skills both written and spoken.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) or equivalent work experience.                

 

Experience

Two to four years related experience.
