Description CLASS TITLE:        Electronic Gaming Device Specialist LOCATION:             Missouri Gaming Commission, Kansas City Area

SALARY:                  $45,984 After successful completion of a one-year probationary period


This is professional and specialized work ensuring the integrity and accuracy of electronic gaming devices and associated system programs, including all hardware and software in an assigned geographical area of the state for the Missouri Gaming Commission.  An employee in this class is responsible for inspecting, testing and verifying the operation and accuracy of electronic gaming devices, hardware and software components in casinos.  Work involves conducting on-site inspections of new, upgraded and/or existing devices, systems and associated software; reviewing incident reports which detail problems encountered at casinos; preparing technical reports; and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.  Work may also involve training Commission employees in the methods and procedures used to monitor, inspect, test and verify gaming devices and casino operations.  Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior; however, the employee is expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.  Travel required.  Relocation cost is not available.

 

Previous information system network security and analysis experience desired.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Five years of experience in the gaming industry or a casino environment involving electronic gaming device operation, maintenance and/or regulation.

OR

Three years of experience in computer networking, system integration or software communication; and two years (at least 60 semester hours) of education from an accredited college or university, with twelve (12) or more semester hours in electronics.  (Additional qualifying education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the stated experience.  Experience in electronics involving the installation or maintenance of electronic circuitry may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the stated education.)

OR

One year of experience in electronics involving the installation or maintenance of electronic circuitry; and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major specialization (at least 24 semester hours) in computer science, computer information systems or closely related areas.  (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the stated education for a maximum of two years.  Graduate work in electronics or closely related areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the stated experience.)
