Description This position is located in Nashville, Tennessee and relocation will be required to that area.

The Gannett Client Solutions South Group – is searching for a Creative Director who has primary leadership of creative strategy, vision and execution across multiple platforms using innovative and fresh thinking in a specialized media agency-styled unit.  Conceptualization of holistic, multi-media (print, online, social media, broadcast, outdoor, etc.), creative/branding solutions from concept to completion to presentation for broad base of key local and regional clients.  Work with clients and senior, cross-functional team to develop strategic marketing plans into visual concepts.  Manage creative staff to ensure consistent execution of all creative solutions.  This key position must stay abreast of new technologies in the pursuit of creative excellence.  Reports to Client Solutions Group Director.

 

  • Conceptualize skills across multiple media and messaging platforms – print, online, broadcast, social media and outdoor, based on close collaboration with local key account manager and local ad director. 
  • Implement branding/re-branding strategies as part of the client creative directive that inspire and excite CSG staff and local and regional clients.
  • Translate vision and client needs into compelling, executable creative/campaigns.
  • Regular and effective copywriting to be used in client solutions.
  • Superior presentation skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external decision makers and influencers.
  • Inspire, lead and excite creative staff and effectively manage outside creative resources. Work cooperatively with creative directors from other regions while staying abreast and being able to implement new technologies.
  • Critique strategy, concept, design, layout, copy and motion design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience, 10 years graphic/creative design experience.

  • Experience managing a creative team, including photographic operations.

  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use various computer design/graphics applications, including but not limited to Photoshop, Quark, InDesign, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver or comparable software skills in animation/web design.

  • Demonstrated ability directing and guiding key projects with producers, designers, writers, photographers, etc. in previous positions.

  • Experience utilizing multiple internal and external experts to deliver successful outcomes for clients.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to promote and sell concepts to clients.

  • Expert conceptual ability, writing and oral communications skills.

  • Clear understanding of effective online and offline communications (production, design, technologies and usability).

  • Superior “stand up" presentation skills.

  • Exceptional graphic and web design skills
