Description Founded in 1989, Pennsylvania MENTOR - a part of The MENTOR Network - offers an array of quality community-based services to adults and children with developmental disabilities, to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and medically complex challenges, and to elders in need of home care.   

 

Position Summary

We currently have a vacancy in our Center City Philadelphia office for an Assistant Program Manager.  The Assistant Program Manager’s primary role is to assist the Program Manager with the planning, implementation, and oversight of all aspects of business and program development.  In addition, the APM is responsible for supporting recruitment and development of all professional staff and independent contractors, assisting in the implementation of public relations and marketing activities to ensure continued growth, working with the Program Manager in the development of the program, and helping with the oversight of fiscal and quality assurance systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the hiring and supervising of program supervisory staff and other program staff as assigned
  • Provide feedback in evaluating program and staff performance for quality assurance and utilization
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with all funding sources, regulatory bodies, and inter-agency liaisons
  • Ensure that client supervision and related health and safety practices are upheld
  • Assist with marketing and the development of new business
  • Project revenue and monitor monthly expenses, in conjunction with Program Manager and Program Supervisors
  • Ensure service delivery and compliance with all regulatory, contractual, corporate, and legal requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicaid standards and ensure compliance in terms of treatment interventions and documentation of services
  • Assist Program Manager with referrals, intakes, assessments, matching, and placement of new clients through active participation in admissions meetings
  • Serve as liaison with consulting staff
  • Review all incident reports for analysis of trends in order to identify needs for staff and Mentor training
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Four years experience working in Social Services or a related field
  • At least two years experience in a supervisory role
  • Prior work experience with TFC and CRR population and children's services strongly preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills, with ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
