 UNIX Systems Analyst Lead:

Regular/Part-Time:  Full-Time Regular or Contract-to-Hire

Required Relevant Experience:  5 years

Education Required:  Bachelors Degree

Candidate will be managing a team of 8 UNIX System Administrators who are tasked with supporting, planning, designing, configuration, implementation, management and off-hour support of the UNIX server environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of eight Unix systems administrators
• Provide day to day technical and developer support
• Build and support disaster recovery initiatives and ensure on-going compliance with the IT-Security and Internal Audit
• Install and maintain the operating system and related software products
• Perform required upgrades to ensure operating system currency, improving monitoring capabilities and eliminating legacy infrastructure
• Design tools and procedures to automate and enhance functionality of the installed system software and improve productivity within the group
• Provide limited capacity planning and trending analyst of servers
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software to end users
• Manage technical projects that support key initiatives within the company.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience as a UNIX systems administrator, with at least 3 years as a Team Lead
• Strong knowledge of UNIX internals, and be comfortable with system installation and configuration, system security and third party software installation
• Extensive knowledge of some if not all of the following: AIX, Solaris, NIM, JumpStart, Clustering (HACMP or Veritas) and Virtualization
• Good organizational and communication skills along with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Be able to work independently and with other technical staff within the IT organization and different business units

Required Skills:

• Candidate will have lead experience in an enterprise environment, as well as strong Unix skills.
• Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience as a UNIX systems administrator, with at least 3 years as a Team Lead
• Strong knowledge of UNIX internals, and be comfortable with system installation and configuration, system security and third party software installation
• Extensive knowledge of some if not all of the following: AIX, Solaris, NIM, JumpStart, Clustering (HACMP or Veritas) and Virtualization
