Description
Sales and Marketing driven professional with the ability to lead and effectively manage and motivate a group of highly skilled employees. Manage all aspects of the Conference and Exhibition Division in a fast paced, high pressure environment. Candidate must be comfortable running 4 - 6 domestic and at least 4 international events, with 3 of these exhibitions having 2,000 attendees, concurrently. This position can reside in the US, Europe or Asia.
- Establish relationships with key industry associations and companies
- Manage relationships with major sponsors and exhibitors
- Create strong working relationships with key Global Trade leaders - particularly as it relates to conferences
- Create the annual budget, re-forecasting on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Provide strategic leadership, indentifying content that will add value, locations globally that provide the best opportunity for growth and constructing an aggressive five year plan
- Introduce a world-class marketing and attendee acquisition program, utilising Audience Development best practices
- Drive the sales and marketing functions and create a global infrastructure that will support the five year plan
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in the field
- Familiarity with all aspects of events - sales and marketing, planning, audience development, digital marketing and business planning
- Proven sales ability to grow an events business internationally
- Experience running both conferences and exhibitions
- Familiarity with appropriate registration systems, web technology and virtual trade shows
- Experience driving the marketing and sales functions associated with global events
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience building a new team and expanding an events business
