Technical Service Representative

Progress Rail Services Corporation, a Caterpillar Company and a leading provider of services to the Railroad industry in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, seeks an experienced Technical Service Representative for its Chemetron Rail Welding division located in Kansas City, MO.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience servicing mechanical and electrical devices/equipment such as generators, HVAC, hydraulics, SLC and PLC devices.

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mobile rail welding trucks and equipment
• Startup and check out of new mobile machine systems with an on-board 275kw generator, system cooling using 20 tons of HVAC equipment, 60 HP of hydraulics, with Rockwell Automation SLC 505 PLC controls and on board diagnostics
• Perform safety inspections and audits in the field on trucks and personnel
• Perform technical training in field for truck crews such as training personnel in troubleshooting of existing systems
• Work in main shop where rail welding trucks are built and serviced checking out all new built equipment prior to placing in field

• Minimum 5 years experience and or training in the areas of electrical devices, hydraulics, mechanical systems and PLC controls
• Engaging personality and good verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers
• Must be able to travel 30% of time
• Must be able to obtain a valid passport
