The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor:

  • The RN has primary responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of patients in their unit.
  • The RN develops, coordinates, and implements a plan of care that is patient and outcome focused.   The plan of care is made in collaboration with other members of the unit team and is based on patient assessment, physician orders and preferences, application of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Enters appropriate documentation into patients’ charts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill to care for patients in their unit.
  • Able to identify scope of practice issues, prioritize duties and make effective decisions concerning patient care.
  • Demonstrates communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates an exceptional level of easily understood verbal communication on the phone.
  • Performs multiple tasks, often under stress. 
  • Appropriately applies knowledge, training and skills in the care of neonate, adolescent, adult, and older patients.
  • Utilize good organizational skills.
  • Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills.

Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted RN nursing license in New Jersey
