The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing all facets of Ingles Markets Distribution Center Operations.  We currently distribute dry grocery, produce, meat and dairy products to 200+ Ingles supermarkets located in the Southeast.  In addition, we are planning a facility expansion to include a new frozen warehouse.  The Distribution Manager will direct, coordinate and oversee the current warehouse and future expansion project.  Primary responsibilities include overseeing the storage and distribution of products and materials with a working knowledge of refrigerated and frozen commodities, produce, HBC items, and dry grocery. The position requires management of staff responsible for all distribution functions, including:  shipping, receiving, inventory control, storage, transportation, backhauls (including third party backhauls), equipment maintenance, and total P&L responsibility. 

• BA/BS degree in business administration,  transportation and logistics, or related degree preferred
• 10+ years relevant warehouse and transportation experience
• Must have experience with all commodities:  frozen, dry, meat, dairy, HBC, and produce
• Measurable accomplishments and experience in a warehouse manager role

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Strong track record as a change agent and innovator in deploying new business strategies, practices and technologies
• Exceptional management skills necessary to lead a diverse organization while maintaining a cohesive team that is results oriented
• Experience with WMS a must (Retalix preferred)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills   
• Strong PC knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
