While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment

The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a warehouse environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and warehouse equipment.

May require extended/ and or flexibility with employee’s hours in order to meet customer’s needs.

Load Planner Associate

 ·         Ability to select low-cost mode and carrier following customer-specific routing instructions and/or routing guides. 

·         Identify and execute complex move opportunities such as truckload multi-stops and pooling moves. 

·         Coordinate & expedite requests, time-specific pickups, deliveries and other special requests. 

·         Daily interaction with carriers and customer personnel is required.

·         Resolution of accessorial charges and rating discrepancies.

·          Experience with specialized equipment a plus

·         Five day work week; including Saturdays

·         Depending on business needs, hours can vary between 7am to 7pm  

•        Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management.

•        Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast past environment.

•                    Strong systems aptitude.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel. 

•                    Good written and oral communication required.

•                    Basic knowledge of transportation rating and invoice processing.

•                    College degree or minimum 2 years transportation experience.
