Clearwire and Sprint Nextel recently entered into a definitive agreement to combine their next-generation wireless broadband businesses to form a new wireless communications company to expedite the deployment of the first nationwide mobile WiMAX network. In conjunction with this agreement Intel Corporation (through Intel Capital); Google Inc.; Comcast Corporation; Time Warner Cable Inc; and Bright House Networks have collectively agreed to invest $3.2 billion into the new company. Market Development RepresentativeClearwire is looking for a Market Development Representative to create, implement, communicate and track local marketing programs. These programs are designed to grow revenue, drive sales force productivity and efficiency as well as satisfy and retain customers. This position is the opportunity to perform sales and marketing functions on a cutting edge wireless technology product that sells itself! You will be responsible for driving marketing programs to support all sales channels. This position reports to the General Manager of Sales.Job Responsibilities:
  • Localize corporate marketing programs in support of local and national revenue goals
  • Play key role in creation and execution of local market attack strategy
  • Support the introduction of new products to the sales organization, current and prospective customers
  • Create enthusiasm and focus among local sales teams (direct, indirect and retail) for all marketing programs
  • Coordinate and implement local marketing and networking events, manage community relationships with the Chamber of Commerce, HOAs, developers, realtors etc.
  • Work with sales to identify prospects, penetration strategies and results
  • Implement marketing program and serve as main point of contact for local sales teams
  • Lead and champion the use of various sales force automation tools that drive productivity and assist in territory management and marketing results tracking
  • Track, measure and report monthly on the rate of return for community events, local sales incentive contests, sponsorships and promotions
  • Manage local marketing budgetQualifications:
  • 2+ years of marketing experience required as a Marketing Specialist, Marketing Analyst, Field Marketing Representative, Marketing Manager, Marketing Coordinator or related title
  • 1+ years of business to consumer marketing experience required
  • Experience coordinating local sales and marketing events to businesses and the public
  • Experience leveraging national efforts locally and working within limited budget capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience generating creative market penetration strategies
  • Experience working directly with and supporting a dynamic and aggressive sales organization
  • Ability to prioritize and support multiple channels
  • Experience in the planning, coordination and execution of large and small events
  • Established connections in the local market
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Ability to multi task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with changing priorities
  • Superior written and excellent oral communication skills are required
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, high energy and a tremendous work ethic
  • Media experience
  • Event and tradeshow experience
  • Design experience preferred (Adobe Design Suite); creative
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
  • Must have valid state driver’s license
  • BA/BS strongly preferred
