Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for set up and operation of machines such as lathes, mills, grinder, saw. Duties include studying sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts; measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or work piece; selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines; calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors; starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media; setting up and operating machine on trial run to verify settings or programmed control data; fitting and assembling parts; installing machined replacement parts; operating welding equipment; and developing specifications from general description and drawing sketches of part or product to be fabricated. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 10 year experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining.
Proficient in the use of qualify control measuring devices. Basic computers skills. Must have manual and CNC machine competence.
