Act as a key player in developing and executing strategic corporate transactions, including: structuring and managing strategic partnerships; negotiation and drafting certain partner, real estate and standard-form contracts; advising business associates on contract law and commercial issues as applicable

Manage outside counsel to support corporate objectives

Provide hands-on counsel to all levels of executive and non-executive staff

Manage and mentor current counsel staff of two; help grow the department as needed

JD degree and good standing with a state Bar

10 years overall experience as an attorney, preferably in a biotech/pharmaceutical environment, with at least 5 years licensing or commercial transaction work

Solid understanding of business operations and corporate governance issues

Direct experience in the following areas: strategic transactions, contract negotiation, intellectual property licensing

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, collaborate and function well in a team environment.  Self-motivated, efficient and future-focused, with good business acumen.
