We are searching for an analytical professional with a strong healthcare industry and finance background, along with solid SAS and/or SQL skills, to join our growing team. Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data. The analyst in this role is responsible for validating and reporting the statistical findings and conclusions related to the Medicare Advantage healthcare affordability plan. In addition, this key position is responsible for working with the Finance and Actuarial functions in the forecast and monthly close processes.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, aggregate and perform quality assurance on applicable data from multiple sources and tables for purposes of the analyzing and reporting the impact of various medical cost reduction initiatives, as well as the validation of external reporting related to affordability programs
  • Provide ongoing communications on project status, results and conclusions for the affordability plan
  • Communicate overall risks/opportunities to leadership regarding the healthcare affordability commitment, along with the impact on the overall medical expense trend
  • Support Finance in the development of medical expense forecasts
  • Provide guidance to actuaries in the monthly close process
  • Work with IT to build ongoing reporting needs into the production environment.
A successful candidate demonstrates the following capabilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of claims-level data (e.g. can identify claims payment accuracy issues within the data)
  • Can creatively use large datasets to produce high quality analytics and metrics
  • Ability to perform statistical analyses to independently validate medical cost trends
  • A combination of solid project management and communication skills, financial acumen, and strong claims level analytic ability

Job Requirements

Minimum two years Healthcare industry experience, Medicare and/or Medicaid experience preferred
      Solid experience in an analytical role or a Master's degree in public health, health administration or an MBA
      Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement policies a plus
      SQL and/or SAS skills
      Microsoft Office proficiency
