
Adecco Engineering & Technical is currently searching for a Telecom Construction Engineer for a long term position in Overland Park, KS. Candidates should have experience with telecom, power and construction. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
The selected candidate will provide engineering level support during new build process by performing initial site walks to determine needs and capabilities. Responsibilities include: verifying telecommunications facilities, power facilities, ground stability, construction access, and road improvement possibilities.
Coordinate with Site Acquisition group to determine initial data needs as well as various structural and environmental issues.
Coordinate with landowners, and various vendors to execute the construction process within budget projections.
Point of contact for power and telecommunications vendors for all on site facilities design and installation.
Review and provide feedback on construction drawings for each cell site utilizing AutoCAD and Visio software. (helpful)
Order and coordinate installation of equipment such as prefabricated buildings, towers, and microwave dishes.
Maintain excellent vendor communication.
Responsible for creating and sending out bid packages to various vendors.
Responsible for bid awards to vendors based on several criteria such as expense, quality, and estimated completion time.
Project manage by chairing pre-construction meetings for each site. During the pre-construction meeting establish schedules and estimated timelines for delivery of equipment.
Ensure efficient use of budget by reviewing construction schedule and providing process improvement.
Responsible to attend internal meetings and communicate project timelines and needs.
Stay current with technology and implement when available to reduce budget expense and expand capabilities.
Perform routine inspections of all sites during construction. Review and ensure that all environmental and safety procedures are followed.
Coordinate installation and integration of equipment inside the building.
Schedule generator start up and verify warranty documentation is in place at each location.
Upon site completion, perform final walk through and address any outstanding issues.
Coordinate transition of site from construction to operations for completion and turn up.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree plus experience in most of the areas listed above. Relocation is not available for this position. Candidates outside the Kansas City area may be considered, but should be able to relocate at their own expense.
