Tax Accountant

Higher One is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance team.  Reporting to the Controller, the Tax Accountant will assist with all aspects of tax accounting and compliance including the following:

 

Responsibilities:

  

  • Calculate tax expense and tax assets and liabilities in compliance with GAAP including FAS 109 and FIN 48.

  • Reconcile tax accounts in general ledger as required.

  • Prepare tax footnote disclosures.

  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns.

  • Prepare sales and use tax returns.

  • Prepare property tax returns.

  • Ensure that tax installments and extensions are properly filed and paid.

  • Conduct tax research, analysis, and planning to ensure tax optimization.

  • Maintain required Sarbanes Oxley documentation for the tax process.

  • Work closely with the independent tax firm and tax compliance and strategies.

  • Assist with special projects.

    Requirements:

      

  • BA in Accounting or related field required.

  • 2 + years corporate tax experience.

  • Public accounting experience is an asset.

  • CPA is a definite plus.
