Position summary:
Finish supervisor is responsible for providing management and guidance to finishing department. Is responsible for planning, monitoring and scheduling of staff and work operations in the department in a safe and efficient manner. Also responsible for employment decisions, review and overall development of department associates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include providing leadership and continuous improvement to the finishing team in the areas of quality, cost/productivity, delivery and safety. Provides necessary resources and training. Coaches/mentors associates on behavior relevant to MBCI values, policies, procedures and performance standards. Works with other supervisors and departments to make facility process changes and assures that OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations are met. Performs other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager and or General Manager.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years experience in a manufacturing and or wood finishing environment with demonstrated team participation and or leadership and related continuous improvement successes.
A sound working knowledge of MRP, KIT and Kanban manufacturing systems, TQM problem solving techniques.
Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation and conflict resolution skills
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
Evaluates manufacturing process and gives direction as needed. Ensures processes follow sound manufacturing practices.
Reviews product specifications and process, inspects product to verify conformance to specifications.
Studies production schedules and estimates employee hour requirements. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of production department or work crew.
Evaluates needs and requirements for new products or processes.
Maintains time and production records.
Expert knowledge of solvent based finishes such as toners, stains, sealers and topcoats
Expert knowledge of air assisted, airless and HVLP spray gun technology
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals
Develop and maintains a working relationship with the manufacturing associates ensuring the adherence to our basic principles and five traits.
Must be adaptable to change and have the ability/desire to make a difference
Must maintain team work environment with fellow management.
Knowledge and Experience:
3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, delegation and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of solvent based finishes such as toners, stains, sealers and topcoats
Knowledge of air assisted, airless and HVLP spray gun technology, UV flatline
Ability to maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary to the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Education:
Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials
Office environment with frequent environmental exposure to low-grade radiation from computer monitors
Exposure to hot and cold elements due to non-climate controlled environment
