Classification: Contract to Full Time

Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000 per year

Robert Half Technology is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to support our client's web portal development efforts for 2009.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, implement and maintain all functions of database systems, including access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. Monitors overall standards and procedures, assists in integrating various systems. Consults with users to determine requirements and IT development resources to make recommendations on database establishment and utilization. May also work on data warehousing tasks, including: creation of data warehouses/marts and/or developing data mining analyses to support business decisions.

The ideal candidate should have:

Proven experience creating and managing large XSDs (XML Schemas)

Experience with the XML Spy tool set

Experience with XML standards and tools

SOA, Pub/Sum and messaging infrastructure experience

Standard operational DA skill set including (logical and physical data modeling)

Requirements gathering - online transactional system experience required

Data Modeling

SQL Skill

DDL Knowledge

DFD Knowledge

Project processes

UML, XML Schema, DTD, naming standards and metadata management experience (recommended)

Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint (Moderate level)
For technology, SQL Server/Oracle DBs, Erwin for modeling tool.
