Job Description
We are currently hiring a Financial Analyst to join our growing team! The Financial Analyst works with the Finance team to measure performance across departments and business units. The qualified candidate has a passion for organizing data in meaningful ways. He/she believes that analysis is the bedrock of action, and seeks ways to systematize data into dashboards and narratives so that leaders and managers throughout the organization can act to improve performance. The ideal candidate demonstrates creativity in approaching quantitative problems, and consistency in applying a method once the structure is in place.
Your responsibilities will be:
· Prepare and review monthly and quarterly performance metrics, and develop new metrics to help programs and departments improve their performance
· Prepare monthly variance analyses for departments, highlighting favorable and unfavorable trends; meet with department leaders to document and explain these variances
· Assist in developing standards for measuring sales performance across programs and business units
· Adapt or develop service performance metrics, monitor and report on performance on a regular basis
· Discover, advocate for, and lead analysis projects that you feel will benefit the growth of the company
Ad Hoc Projects:
· Build ad hoc financial models for marketing, sales and support departments; advise senior managers on the opportunities and challenges described by the models
· Individually or with the assistance of others in Finance, assess the effects of new infrastructure investments and acquisitions on company performance
· Assist in reviewing new business pro formas; question assumptions and conduct sensitivity analyses as needed
Requirements
Requirements - Ideal candidates will have a background that includes:
· Bachelor’s degree required, with substantial coursework in quantitative fields (Statistics, Accounting, Finance, or Decision Sciences); Master’s degree preferred.
· Excellent analytic abilities, and a gift for seeing patterns in numbers
· Very strong Excel skills
· Experience in developing financial and performance metrics
· Self-starter; assertive; oriented to action
· Creative problem solver
· Values collaborative relationships
· Possesses a desire to learn
