Job Description
Classification: Consulting
Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
Company is Hackettstown, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and machining high precision components as well as developing sales forecasts and product costing/pricing for new products. Mechanical designers work directly with machine shops and assembly personnel to ensure that designs will yield reliable and repeatable products.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience using Solid Works 3D Modeling Application
Machine shop CNC Milling and Turning experience required
Experience with dimensional tolerances and inspection techniques are required.
Problems resolution skills using solutions involving new design and assembly techniques, technologies, and concepts is a must.
Tool and fixture making experience a plus

Job Requirements
Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer
Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience required
Hands-on experience in the photonics industry, laser or physics lab required
Design for Six Sigma (DFFS) and Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Experience with Solidworks, 3D Modeling, CNC Milling, and Tool & Fixture
