MRI has an opening for an Assistant Chemist which will provide basic technical support required for a project by conducting preliminary analysis of collected data and contributes as needed to research proposals and reports. Conducts experimental work on projects; sets up the procedure and performs the experiment based on established protocols, developed procedures, or experimental designs; keeps records of experiments performed and all data collected. Reviews data for accuracy and completeness. Conducts standard data analyses as directed by project leader. Analyzes, checks, tests, and evaluates data. Performs peer review of data. Basic understanding of the technical discipline and general understanding of the nature and operation of the contract research business.
Qualifications:
- Hold a B.S./B.A. in Chemistry (or related field)
- Have experience in preparatory techniques for the creation of calibration standards and sample extracts
- Prefer experience with GC/MS or LC/MS analytical techniques
- Be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of quantitative analysis measurement methods
- Be goal-oriented and mindful of detail
