Baylor University Medical Center has a rich history which began with its founding as the Texas Baptist Memorial Sanitarium in 1903.

Baylor Health Care System, which employees 4,752 nurses in direct patient care, is a network of hospitals, primary care and specialty care centers, rehabilitation clinics, affiliated ambulatory surgery centers and the Baylor Research Institute. The Director of Education under the direction of the CNO, develops and implements Hospital-wide Education Programs. Collaborates with Human Resources and other Hospital departments to ensure competencies for employees and volunteers. Participates in the vertical integration and cooperation in education in the Baylor Health Care System.
