We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a growing Information Technology team. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer networks, telecommunications, and access control solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- General LAN/WAN responsibilities
- Network configuration management
- Maintain network diagrams and associated network documentation
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems
- Upgrade network hardware and software, as required
- Maintain firewalls and secure remote access solutions
- Work with the development and systems integration teams to ensure all proprietary and third party applications properly integrate with the firm’s network infrastructure
- Review capacity reports, problem records and performance monitors to evaluate performance of network and participate in capacity planning
- Provide support off-hours and remotely when needed
Required Skills / Experience:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years direct experience installing and maintaining highly available, redundant network
- Infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
- Advanced knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP and PM SM and DM
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco equipment (Cat 6500, 4500, Nexus 5k, ASA, etc.) and configuration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Financial Services / Trading experience a plus
- Web hosting / ecommerce or other 24x7x365 experience a plus
