job description

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our Supply Chain team.  He/she will be a key contributor to a small, highly visible team which develops and implements strategies to support our supply chain productivity plan.  This role will provide support to the Supply Chain finance team, as well as the Supply Chain executive leadership team and require work across the FDD, WhiteWave and Morningstar platforms.  This job will lead to roles within the broader finance function.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a lead point of contact in implementing the Supply Chain data warehouse.  This role will include working with outside vendors on development of the system, implementing needed enhancements, as well as day to day coordination with Supply Chain executives and field personnel on key issues to ensure they are resolved quickly.  The role will also be responsible for leading and coordinating any needed training activities with system users.  Additionally, the Manager will provide subject matter expert support to future expansions of the data warehouse capability more broadly throughout Dean Foods.
Lead the Supply Chain data warehouse Change Control Board.  This board will be responsible for reviewing and prioritizing any requested enhancement and modifications to the data warehouse.  The board will be made up of a subset of Supply Chain leaders.
Provide support to our Master Data cleansing efforts as part of the data warehouse implementation.  This will include coordinating between outside vendors and our Operations/IT teams as we seek to standardize data between systems.
Support our operations finance team in establishing standard processes for recording financial and non-financial transactions in a consistent manner across our manufacturing locations.
Develop best practices and tools to allow field personnel to analyze and understand the metrics in the data warehouse.  This will require a tight linkage with our Continuous Improvement team, and a strong understanding of the Management Operating System (MOS).  This understanding will provide key insights into how to design tools to provide the most value and understanding of what is occurring in our operations for our plant managers and leadership team.
Develop databases, reporting tools, data integrity validation models and other related tools for the Supply Chain Team.
Work with IT, Operations, and Finance personnel to understand business processes and how data collection and maintenance can be automated or extracted from existing systems.  Identify best practices to ensure that our processes yield consistent results.
Assist the Supply Chain team with day to day activities and in the preparation and distribution of monthly activity reports relating to the overall performance of the business.
Support our annual financial planning process, with a specific focus on the financial impact of supply chain strategic issues and initiatives.
Engage in other ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed to support the growth and development of the business.  As the business evolves, it is expected that the Supply Chain team will support other functions on critical initiatives with substantial P&L impact (e.g. cost to serve analysis, product cost analysis, etc.).
