Description Detroit Institute of Arts seeks a Textile Historian to gather & organize historical data; analyze textiles & interpret authenticity and relative significance; trace historical development in textile conservation; conduct historical research & technical analyses for the identification & conservation of historic textiles; teach & conduct historical research & examinations of textiles in the museum; prepare exhibits & oversee the conservation & installation of textiles to ensure their historical accuracy; & manage the day-to-day operations of the Textile Conservation Laboratory. Must have a Master's degree in Conservation, Museum/ Gallery Management, or in a closely related field, or the foreign academic equivalent & one year of experience as a Historian or Textile Conservator.
