Job Description
APS Healthcare has an exciting new position for a VP Development and Sales Support based in our White Plains, NY headquarters. This key role acts as the liaison between field sales, development and sales support services. Their team will coordinate the collection of intelligence which enables the development and sales team focus their sales strategy. The VP will strategically deploy and manage consultants to identify government and private sector business opportunities and ensure effective proposals are submitted when Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are received for new/continued business. They will direct the proposal writing function in creating and maintaining a proposal library and maximize the benefit of proposal writing software. They will also direct the use of sales software to track sales activity and forecast revenue growth.
Management of these support functions enables the company to successfully sell its programs and services and grow the APS private and government sector businesses.

Responsibilities:
�Create, staff and manage a prospecting unit which researches:
o Sales opportunities in all markets
o Clinical trends and epidemiology data for Clinical Product Development
o Competitor overview
o Customer RFP trends
� Directs staff performing outreach and research in the government and private sector to identify future opportunities for the company. Insures those key stakeholders, i.e., Clinical Product Development, Operations, etc. are aware of future opportunities and the need for deployment of product development resources.
� Supervises the proposal process and proposal writing staff. This includes building processes to evaluate new RFPs, approving a project plan for their completion, monitoring and facilitating the successful completion of the RFP.
� Supervises the process for building and maintaining a library of responses to be used for all products and sectors as well as clinical and demographic information to support RFP and clinical product development processes. Insures the highest quality of writing and content are contained in the library and are maintained as products are altered or new programs added.
� Manages the use of Customer Relationship Management Software, i.e. SalesForce.com, used to track leads and prospects and develop the capability to handle the transition of a prospect to a customer where the software will be used by account management to facilitate their on-going work with the customer.
� Direct the efforts of a Sales/Development Support Analyst in working with the software company on modifications needed to support APS business. Provide ongoing training for all users and monitor the software tools� effectiveness.
� Works with SVP Business Development to insure the effectiveness of the sales/development activity. This will include: designing reports on pipeline and proposal activity and providing feedback on the effectiveness of the sales leads throughout the sales process. May also participate in training and education of sales and account management staff to keep them current on purchasing trends identified by business intelligence and/or government outreach activities.
� Works to develop team strategy activities including internal meetings, group initiatives and corporate presentations.

Requirements/Qualifications:
� Bachelors Degree in Health Science, Business Administration or equivalent required.
� Masters Degree in Business or Organizational Effectiveness preferred.
� A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related business (disease management, managed care, or health care field) doing market research, sales support, and/or proposal writing plus a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity.
� Knowledge of the market place APS competes in and product offerings sold by APS. Experience working with government clients required.
� Knowledge of healthcare, disease management, and clinical processes.
� Ability to review clinical data/literature and develop insights to support APS business.
� Knowledge of the sales process from lead generation to award of contract
� Technical knowledge sufficient to evaluate software used in proposal writing and sales activity.
� Able to assess complexity of RFP and response, in order to insure APS response represents APS skills/innovations in a way that meets prospect�s objectives.
� Excellent leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor a professional team
� Proficient writing and editing skills.
� Project management expertise.
