Major responsibilities include enhancing component manufacturing by assuring that parts or assemblies are processed and tooled to meet optimum quality, quantity and cost requirements. Provide technical support to analyze and develop manufacturing control systems. Interface will occur with Work Group Advisors/Process Leader, Work Groups, Quality and Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Support Services. Other responsibilities include developing cost reduction programs through manufacturing efficiency improvements, schedule attainment, and first run capacity. Specific results include continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost, workflow, and on-time product delivery.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering If the candidate does not meet the degree requirement a combination of relevant education and experience should total the equivalent of (8) years. A minimum of three years related manufacturing experience. Familiarity with aluminum machining, cutting tools, and part fixturing required. Some knowledge of CNC programming also required. Demonstrated understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing techniques and SPC is required. Experience should also include three years of detailed process planning and manufacturing engineering activities. Responsible for technical/floor support for resolution of quality or process issues and improvements. 1.\tFamiliarity with machining aluminum castings required. 2.\tDetail process planning including specifying speeds, feeds, tooling, fixturing, and gaging 3.\tCNC manufacturing principles with a basic understanding of CNC programming 4.\tMachining operations and equipment, knowledge of PLC 5.\tProcess control and quality assurance, SPC, and process capability 6.\tProcess documentation / information using CAD, Network/software, PC applications 7.\tISO 9000 standards and their relationship to company policies, procedures and instructions 8.\tExperience with formal problem solving methodology required. 9.\tDemonstrated project management skills required. Must have experience in welding fabrications or tube bending and machining of welded fabrications, whichever is appropriate. A strong knowledge and successful experience with Just-In-Time (J.I.T.) and Statistical Operator Control (S.O.C.) is required.Deep draw press experience is desirable. Supports QCT-S initiatives for Fabrication. Provides support for 3rd shift. Current production support, mentoring of Natural Work Group's and Resource Work Group support.
