Description Manufacturing Engineering is a critical element of the iDirect Technologies Operations Team. The group is responsible for the development and execution of product assembly plans at our contract manufacturers.

  • Participate in the development of iDirect Manufacturing Policies, Procedures and Design Guidelines.

  • Work effectively with iDirect functional groups in the New Product Introduction process

  • Review iDirect documentation

  • Perform DFM reviews and drive corrective actions to closure

  • Facilitate prototype and pilot builds at Contract Manufacturer(s)

  • Transition new products in Manufacturing

  • Lead the selection and approval of CMs.

  • Communicate CM capabilities, status/issues within iDirect

  • Drive CM corrective actions to timely closure

  • Drive CM/Supplier continuous improvement efforts ( e.g. yield improvement, defect reduction, … )

  • Develop, monitor and communicate effective CM/Supplier metrics.
  • Requirements

    Must have at least a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Must have at least ten (10) years experience with electromechanical assembly processes.

  • Must have strong technical, project management, problem solving, leadership and Process Improvement skills.

  • Must be able to understand and communicate complex issues to Contract Manufacturers, Component Suppliers and iDirect Hardware Engineering groups.

  • Must understand and be able to perform in an ISO9XXX/TL9000 driven environment.

  • Must be able to implement a Design for Manufacturing process and establish effective Design Guidelines.

  • Must be able to read and understand Assembly Drawing, BOMs and all other related product and process documentation.

  • Must have working knowledge or related industry standards (e.g. IPC).

  • Must have a working knowledge of configuration management essentials (AGILE or related experience is a plus).


    Relocation will not be provided.
