The responsibilities of this position include:
Enforcing all client procurement, materials and finance policies and procedures in support of internal controls
Supervising the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department to assist facility staff requesting goods and services and direct their requests to appropriate contracted sources (private and GPO contracts)
Enforcing all client procurement, materials and finance policies and procedures in support of internal controls
Supervising the day-to-day operations of the materials management function tasked with receipt of goods, services and capital equipment
Supervising the distribution of supplies from receiving and central stores locations to all internal and external (off-site) consuming locations
Supervising the inventory management practices and inventory performance (inventory valuation and inventory turn) of central stores, perioperative services and cardiac catheterization laboratory
Managing proof-of-delivery (receipt) clarification requests from the accounts payable department to match and pay supplier invoices
Representing the materials and purchasing function on each value analysis committee
Coordinating all product, service and capital equipment conversions endorsed by each value analysis committee
Communicating all product, service and capital equipment conversion activities and associated value analysis committee deliberations to appropriate facility constituencies (physicians, clinicians, department heads, etc.) as necessary to support product conversions
Acting as an advisor/resource to all departments regarding sourcing options for goods, services and capital equipment
Serving as the primary liaison for all facility-specific vendor management issues
Performance of other duties as assigned
This position will also be responsible for interfacing with a range of internal and external contacts, including clinicians, department managers, value analysis committee representatives and vendors. This individual will interview, select and supervise training of new materials management and purchasing employees and be responsible for administering performance evaluations and salary recommendations according to the client’s policies, procedures and directives.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelors degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
At least 5 years experience in a complex materials management/supply chain environment in the healthcare industry
Requirements
Ability to communicate verbally and written to all levels of hospitals and within Broadlane
Excellent basic skills on personal computers such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Solid supply chain skills with complete understanding of the metrics associated with them to produce low inventories, high fill rates, high turns, and no obsolete inventory
Leadership skills to lead a diverse team of supply chain employees
