Job Description

PSI Group
is looking for an Information Architect for one of its top clients in the Charlotte, NC area.



The Information Architect (IA) will provide information architecture and usability for our client???s primary eCommerce website and other affiliate sites. This position will work with the creative, operational, and marketing teams to understand business goals, as well as work with designers and developers as a user experience expert to define and prototype the information architectures for these websites. The IA will support accessible design solutions while driving ROI through a positive online customer experience model.



The IA is responsible for leading the creation of logical and easily navigable interactive user experience, including the user interface, navigational rules, organization of information, site maps and planning as it relates to the customer???s experience on web site interactive properties. The IA will also aid in usability evaluations with customers, including test planning, execution and analysis.



This position:
??? Performs the functions of an Information Architect/User Interface Designer.
??? Defines user interfaces for new and currently evolving online products.
??? Defines user interfaces for customer care applications, affinity sites and interconnects offsite campaigns to eCommerce website.
??? Translates business requirements and user needs into desirable user interfaces.
??? Works closely with product development, technology, marketing and creative teams to gather requirements and shape a personalization strategy.
??? Develops deliverables that communicate ideas clearly, including sitemaps, wireframes, and functional specification documents.
??? Contributes to the Product Development Team by introducing new ideas and creative approaches.
??? Maintains and shares an up-to-date awareness of industry trends, new technology and exploring those that would benefit our customer???s online experience while increasing ROI.

Required Qualifications:
??? Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design, Communications or equivalent and suitable work experience required.
??? Degree or study in human-computer interaction or Information Design, or user experience in a related field.
??? 3-5 years of marketing or creative development experience with a focus on ecommerce and the internet market.
??? Solid understanding of the creative elements, compelling copy and Internet marketing tactics.
??? Experience in multiple areas of the marketing mix, including, but not limited to, PR,
??? Retail Advertising, Internet and Promotions.
??? Candidates will need to supply an online portfolio or live URLs with their role detailed.
??? Candidates will need to provide sample UI documents (i.e., sitemaps, functional specs, wireframes, etc.)
??? Three or more years of applied experience in designing usable web interfaces.
??? Experience in gathering and documenting requirements for web-based products.
??? Three or more years of applied Information Architecture and / or user design experience.
??? Experience in creating large-scale, consumer-facing sites.
??? Experience designing customer care applications, intranet interfaces and custom tool GUI (preferred).
??? Experience designing accessible websites.
??? Proven experience in working with cross-functional teams.

Knowledge:
Eligible candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience as an information architect; with additional experience in instructional design, usability engineering, or customer research a plus. Candidates must have experience with the Web and standard design tools. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of Visio and some knowledge of HTML.
