SUMMARYThe Commercial Insurance/Medicare Department is a Customer Service oriented department which handles patients with Medicare, Medicaid and/or Private Pay (Anthem, Aetna, Cigna etc.). Providing excellent Customer Service that is second to none is our number one goal. Other requirements include meeting monthly budgeted goals as well as generating profitable sales that flow flawlessly throughout the remaining departments in the building since this is the starting point of work flow. Qualifying new enrollments based on their eligibility and maintaining current customer base are also important. Lastly, all work is to be completed accurately and efficiently in all areas including the computer systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESIncluded but are not limited to the following:1. Customer Service
Making Outgoing Calls to existing customers to see if they are ready for their next scheduled shipment. Taking Incoming Calls from new and existing patients to enroll them in our program and/or place an order. Contact Physician Office and other Liberty departments to coordinate efforts in obtaining necessary paperwork to expedite the patient’s order. Assisting customers with their monitoring equipment and offering assistance when needed. Regularly contacts patients for their current inventory of supplies and adjusts shipments based on patient’s needs and physician’s recommended therapy.2. Transaction Times and other Goals To meet the standard transaction time requirements depending on particular job duty. To meet and exceed monthly budget goals including up-selling of particular items/products. To work efficiently and productively while maintaining quality.3. Attendance and Punctuality Employees are expected to be on time and ready to work at the start of their shift when the phones turn on. Employee must have good previous attendance and consistency.4. Other Duties Form Completion—fills out patient forms and invoices, determines changes for supplies ordered and enters all information into computer system(s). Refers billing or reimbursement questions to the designated department for investigation. Set the example for employees regarding appropriate level of professionalism and general work ethic that is expected within the Commercial Insurance/Medicare Department. This includes overall professionalism, dress code, attendance, internet/email/phone use etc…..all Liberty corporate policies. Constructively and non-authoritatively address areas in which employees need improvement regarding general processes and knowledge. Communicate with employees and share your knowledge on department processes/procedures. Be “forward thinking” and observant. Assisting with reports and quality assurance checks to ensure the department and employees are functioning at their expected levels. This may include spot checking setups, keyed orders, and monitoring calls. Assist with handling existing employee continuing education (departmental processes, product knowledge, cross training etc).TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIESIncluding but not limited to the following: Handle all aspects of new employee training: HBS, Medicare/Insurance guidelines, tour of facility, monitors progress, OSHA and all other In-Services (Part 1 & 2 Diabetes, Pump Education etc) and employee introductions. Assists with new and existing employee continuing education (Departmental processes, product knowledge and Cross Training sessions). Continually monitors all employees in the department to independently determine training focus. Uses current employee monitoring, training charts and processes but continually develops and adds to these areas and implements upon management approval. Constructively and non-authoritatively address areas in which employees need improvement regarding customer service, general processes and knowledge. Planning own daily training activities and documenting these daily on training report. Run phone reports/audits and utilize for comparisons of employee activity/discrepancies.
Requirements
1. Education
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Post High School Education is preferred but not required. General Computer skills are required such as typing, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Internet.2. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret correspondence and/or documents. Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate grammar, speech and vocabulary. Employee must also maintain professionalism with all other Liberty co-workers and patients.3. Mathematical Skills Proficiency in skills such as basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Understanding of fundamental accounting and reconciliation procedures.4. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply understanding and logic to defined situations. Ability to calculate figures, gather data and establish facts to arrive at valid conclusions. Ability to interpret instructions and give consideration to abstract and concrete variables within a given situation.5. Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to speak and/or hear. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk and use hands and fingers to key data, handle and feel. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision. Work Environment The work environment is characteristic of an office/cubicle setup. While performing the duties of this position, employee is frequently sitting at a desk, using telephone and computer.
