JOB SUMMARY:
This position will assume responsibility for analyzing the performance of a carrier class voice network comprised of the Freedom Region CDV switches, Media Gateways and other associated peripherals which support the Comcast Digital Voice service. This will include managing switch capacity, switch routing, PSTN capacity, etc. Being able to capture, process and report on the various CDV product data in order to assist in meeting system performance metrics, process improvements, customer satisfaction metrics, while improving cost savings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analysis of existing switch reports/data; ability to implement corrective action.
  • Analysis of switch and PSTN interconnection (facilities and trunking) troubles and coordination/performing corrective action.
  • Manage the implementation of new capacity associated with the call management server, media gateway, voicemail systems, and other CO functions.
  • Manage the implementation of new capacity associated with the facilities and trunking for PSTN interconnection to local and long distance carriers, operator services providers, directory assistance providers, etc.
  • Analyze Sales marketing data to determine size, location, and quantity of facilities for Voice, IP, and Data services.
  • Process routine region-wide reports by extracting data from the financial and operational databases.
  • Uses electronic spreadsheet and reporting tools to prepare and analyze reports about customer issues and trends.
  • Provides findings in written reports to other departments and all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Works closely with internal and external support teams.
  • Prepare periodic management reports that track key performance metrics including trend and ratio analysis.
  • Create, update, track, and close orders in TBS Metasolv.
  • Define and implement process improvements and service metrics for systems and applications.
  • Requires close communication and coordination of activities with Comcast CDV support groups within region engineering, technical operations, and national organizations.
  • Communicate weekly status to team members and other stakeholders through conference call participation. 

  • Job Requirements 

    REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in telephony, voice networking, circuit switch engineering, and ancillary equipment such as DACs, Voice Messaging Platform, Announcement servers, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of Protocols such as SIP, MGCP, NCS, SS7, etc.
  • A strong understanding of soft switches (CMS) and surrounding components
  • Ability to define and identify new processes or process enhancements
  • Must be a team player, and have excellent communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to the Customer Experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access & Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and follow-up skills.

    EXPERIENCE
  • 1 - 3 yrs experience with transport equipment, IP technology, digital cross-connects systems, VOIP Telephony (Cisco / BTS / Cedar Point Soft Switches)
  • 1 - 3 yrs experience in utilizing tools to extract data points across systems
  • 1- 3 yrs experience and strong knowledge of VOIP provisioning tools
  • 1 - 3 yrs experience in report development (SQL / Oracle preferred)

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA/BS in engineering or related field. or equivalent job related experience/knowledge.

    Position may be based in Newcastle, DE or Bensalem, PA
